Just wanted to thank everyone that responded to my last posting on whether
or not to repair my wife's 1927 Marantz turntable.
Found a new belt on Ebay for about $8 (thanks to Steve Karl), just installed
it and the turntable works like it did way back when.
Glad I asked here before chucking it :)

Glad ya got it going so easily ( & cheap too ! ). 1927? Kinda old ain't
it? Did they even have LP's back then ??? <VBG>

Actually when I think about it my dad had a Marantz turntable when I was a
teenager. That was maybe 1972. heeheehee

    YAY!!!

Moral of the story: the fact that a technology is "old" doesn't mean it's
obsolete... otherwise, pens and pencils (not to mention everything made of
leather or wood) would only be available on eBay. :)

    Amen.
This turntable was within 2 hours of being placed at the town dump.
I posted here and a few other places just for shits and giggles and the
consensus was it was worth attempting to fix.
