my current workstation ( casio wk 3800) has a 6 track sequencer but only records 1 track for drum rhythms , is there any workstations that 1. record multiple drum rhythm tracks or 2. can stop and start the drum rhythm . once you stop the casio on the drum track, you cant restart it ( for songs where there is a break in drums) ??

This is a feature that Casio keyboards don't have: it's called Sync Start/stop...where you can stop the accomp. in the middle of the song and trigger it with a chord in the left hand.
As Y_Man said, laptop is a way to do it. You could record your song via keyboard sequencer, called Song Memory, then save it as MIDI format with your diskette, then use a software in your pc/laptop to edit it the way you want.
