    Korg PA Arrangers and Osimo

Thanks again for all the information. I will do some research on the Direct feature. I would imagine since there is not a ton of internal memory that you have to be selective on what goes in there. I read about the Yamaha piano that you can download and add to the Korg but it looked like it was...

    Korg PA Arrangers and Osimo

Hey Colin .... thanks very much for this information. Although I haven't even ordered my keyboard yet, I still followed your explanation of combining the 3 Osimo files into one in the PC Songbook Editor. It will be interesting to see how much editing I have to do if I import the file into a...

    Using Karaoke Files

Thanks for your replies. I was hoping the video would be better on a small screen but it sounds like it isn’t. Korg changed the video out port on recently manufactured PA700s (and maybe other models too) from an RCA composite video port to an hdmi port. I don’t know if that means the video...

    Mid-level Arranger Keyboard

Thanks for the reply Vonny. It was interesting to hear from someone who has actually played the Medeli. From reviews I have read it sounds like the Medeli menu system is more like the Yamaha than the Korg menu system. Speaking of reviews, the main ones on YouTube (in English ) are by Jeremy See...

    Mid-level Arranger Keyboard

Hi and thanks for the information. In my research I have found exactly what you said about the quality arranger market being dominated by Korg and Yamaha. I occasionally see used models of the Tyros for sale as well as the Yamaha S series. I wonder why Roland is absent from this market (other...

    Korg Shirts

Hi All .... First 2 disclaimers ... I know absolutely nothing about the quality of these shirts and I am not affiliated in any way with the seller. That being said, I just saw this ad for Korg Polo Shirts and thought someone might be interested...

    Mid-level Arranger Keyboard

Hi All, I am in the market for a mid-level arranger keyboard. I just started learning to play the piano at the first of the year and I own the Korg EK50. I am 72 years old and will primarily be playing at home. As I improve I might occasionally play at church or at local assisted care...

    Using Karaoke Files

Hi All ... in a former life I did some DJing and have a BUNCH of old karaoke files. These files are in a zipped format. The zipped file contains an MP3 file of the audio track and a (my old memory has failed me but I think the file type is something like cdg) file that contains the lyrics. I...

    Korg PA Arrangers and Osimo

Thanks again for your help. I have watched all of the Korg videos that I can find plus I have read quite a bit of the manual. (I sound pretty nerdy, right?) Back to the Osimo software and songbooks... so when you combined all three of the Osimo files did you get 850 different songs or lots of...

    PA4X Polyphony

Just as an aside, the elusive Medeli AKX10 claims to have 256 notes of polyphony. This is based on the fact that this keyboard isn’t available. If it ever becomes available, Medeli might reduce the number. o_O

Help? - easy songs for a newbie?

I may be too late and this is not a Beatle song but the old song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” is an easy one to start on.

    PA4X Polyphony

Hi Colin ... if I am reading this correctly, it looks like you don’t currently own an arranger keyboard. I am in the market for one (the PA700 is probably at the top of my budget). Which arranger keyboard do you (or anyone else) recommend?

    Korg PA Arrangers and Osimo

Colin, Thanks very much for this information. I have not purchased a keyboard yet but I am leaning toward the Korg PA700. I had never heard of the Osimo software until yesterday. I watched a recording of a Korg live cast that talked about it a little but I want to make sure I am correct in my...

Midi Data - What gets transferred?

Thank everyone for this very helpful information.

Midi Data - What gets transferred?

Hi all, I am curious about what midi data gets transferred when you use a keyboard as a midi controller. I believe that if you hit a single note on the keyboard then midi data is transferred that tells which note was played and how hard it was played along with other data about the note. I...
