I sampled a bunch of patches from the OP-X Pro3 soft synth into the Nord Stage 3 so that I could use them for playing out, mostly with my 80s band, but also with my other band. This is what they sound like, played with the Stage 3, over the air, recorded at home with a Zoom H1n placed a couple feet in front of a DZR-12 powered speaker.

Just throwing this out there as an option people might be interested in. Obviously you can sample any synth you want, into the Stage 3. I went with the OP-X soft synth because it was easiest, but I could sample my Juno 60 or D-50 if I wanted. I think the Nord does a really good job of reproducing the sounds.

Here's an audio clip showing how some of these samples sounded in a gig a few days ago. Samples played on the Nord Stage 3 Compact 73 (except where noted otherwise). Recorded from someone's cell phone.

"Get Down on It". The "pad" is the "12 Halen Strings OB" sample. The "brass stabs" are played on the D-50.

"Centerfold". The "stabs" are the "Alphaville Like a Melody" sample..

"In My House". The "twangy" stabs are a funk-type patch from the OB-ProX. The "strings" are the D-50.

"Working 4 the Weekend". A patch that's similar to the Rush Subdivisions patch.

"You Give Love a Bad Name". Just the D-50.
