Hello Keyboardforums,

I am new to buying keyboards, but I am a keen pianist (2 hours a day.)

I looking for an 88-key portable keyboard with a pedal to take with me when travelling. It needs to be self-powered.

I'm using it for classical pieces like the Pathetique Sonata and Rhapsody in Blue.

The most important thing to me is that it 'feels' as close to a grand piano as possible. I've used a digital upright piano before with really well weighted keys, this is the kind of thing I am looking for in this portable keyboard.

I have no fixed budget but I am looking around the £400 ($650) mark.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I'm not sure now, whether I should get a self-powered one or not. I think self-powered with 88 weighted keys might be impossible for around £400.

Maybe a used one off ebay ???

I just bought a Roland Fanton G8 and that beast is far from easily portable.

To find a battery powered one, I am not sure.

Some of the regulars are bound to chime in here.

Good luck

Yes, I might consider used. I don't mind if the physical condition is bad so long as the function is not affected.

I should have mentioned before, I would like the keyboard to have good quality sockets (a line-out maybe?) as I use high-end headphones and speakers.

The Roland Fantom is a great board, a tad heavy to pack around though.

55 inches long 18 inches wide and weighs about 75 pounds.

Keep an eye on ebay and or other sales outlets.
I'm afraid I can't consider it, I don't think I can possibly go over £550.
