I participate in a guitar forum that has a subforum for keys and synthesizer. One of our members wants to learn to play rock and pop on keys, but is concerned that he doesn't have full use of his right hand pinky. The response has been positive, go for it, don't let it hold you back. I suggested that playing single note melody with the right hand might work and over time exercising the pinky might restore more functionality.

If you have suggestions I will pass them along. Thanks

As long as the digit in question is not physically missing he should have no problem adapting.

Pinky notes are mainly played with wrist action anyway.

He should be fine and tell him to keep working at it.

You're welcome. I hope your friend achieves satisfactory performance by his own standards.
