Hi all
Can anyone give me advice with regards to a good software app for a total beginner?
I see so many out there and all have lots of pros n cons, as a 50 year old guy I think I am too old to learn to read music & don't want to get bogged down in theory , I have a Roland GO-KEYS ...any thoughts?
There seems to be lots of good free stuff on YouTube, so why pay for an App ??
Cheers
Dave

A couple of apps to start with that won't rot your brain are Synthesia and Pianobooster.

These will play back MIDI files either full rate or in step mode for learning displaying the keyboard or the staff respectively.

As a 52 year old I would say you're never too old to learn at least some theory. It doesn't have to be much but a little can go a long way. I love checking out some of Rick Beato's theory vids on YouTube but as you probably already know there's reams of options on YouTube :)
