If the board had any warranty you can kiss it goodbye if anything related to the power supply blows up.

If it's working, then it's working.

Apparently it's happy enough with voltage and polarity and it will only draw as much current as the circuit demands. If nothing's getting too hat then you're probably in the clear.

Basically it's up to your conscience. If you can live with the possibility of no warranty and it's playing fine, then there's no reason you couldn't live with it for years to come.

Or, if you wanna be really pollyanna about it then you could stop using it immediately and contact Novation Support directly and ask them to sell you the "proper" part.

It's your decision. We can't make it for you.

Looks like the keyboard requires 9V and you are supplying 12V. I'm surprised you haven't smoked the unit; but if you continue using the power supply, you will....

From the manual: ".. attach an external power supply (Novation PSU-6, not supplied) .."

see this link:

Power Supply: 9 Volts
Input voltage: AC100-240V, 50/60Hz
Output voltage: 9V DC

Plus, on the back of the keyboard it says 9V, center positive. So why would you think a 12V adapter would be the correct one to use?
