Can I use another power adapter on my Roland FA 06 other than the ORM adapter?

I have a Roland FA 06 keyboard, but they forgot to send the power adapter.

Should another power adapter that is not the OEM Power adapter work with the Roland FA06 when original adapter got missing?

Note I’ve tried different power adapters that are not the Roland OEM adapter but has the same 9v, but still they’re not powering it on.

Any help or suggestions to this? Cus I’m thinking that I’ve damaged the board by trying other adapters in it.

Hi.
There is usually no problems to use any power adapters as long as the voltage and not least that the polarity (+ / -) on the plug that's connecting to the keyboard is correct. This may be different regarding to brand / equipment.

Btw,
I can see you're new to this forum. So am I. 😊
Welcome!

With most brands, as long as you find a matching plug head with the correct voltage, polarity, and sufficient current draw, you're good. However, I've found with Roland, they're *very* picky. Tried using a generic adapter in place of a Roland one on one of my Boss half rack dsp's, and it wouldn't power up (and the adapter worked elsewhere, and yes I checked polarity and voltage). But that's just Roland. I've never seen another brand other than apple, with this level of pickiness (I assume it has something to do with the shape of the converted a/c to d/c waveform.

Mind you, I haven't tried in the last 18 years; my fx half racks were purchased in the 80's. But kept having the same issue with Roland up until about 2006, when I just stopped trying to use non-Roland power supplies.

I had a Roland SC-55 Sound Canvas in the early '90' when I lived in Scotland. The power adapter was for 240v, 50Hz with an output of 9v DC at 1.2A. When I emigrated to the US, I had no problem using a 120v 60Hz adapter with the same output and polarity. I eventually sold the SC-55 but still have the UK power unit.

Besides the output DC voltage that has to be the same and same current or more and same polarity (+ & -), the supply DC plug has to match that of the Roland socket. Sometimes it's because the center pin isn't touching at all or properly.
