As per title.
Keyboard turns on from both adapter and batteries, the display lights up and I can switch through the menu but no.sound regardless of volume.
I've got it set to normal not chord or fingered.

Can't find any way to do a hard reset either. Can anyone help?

Second hand, was assured it worked. I don't have the correct cable for the headphone jack.

To be honest I think I've been sold a lemon!

Try a Factory Reset or Initialize, whatever Casio calls it.

It should be under the system menus somewhere.

It could be MIDI Local is set to OFF.

Hi Gary, I found a repair manual but it doesn't have a MIDI local or reset option in the menu.
I think I'm out of luck, so I'll open it up on the weekend and use my trusty repair manual to tinker with the insides.

Will post results regardless of success

If I recall correctly, the procedure to do a factory reset on a Casio is to Hold down the TONE button while powering up the keyboard.

Try that.

Gary ;)
