Skipp,

When listening to this piece, two thoughts leap to mind....Enya & the movie "Braveheart"...hauntingly beautiful!

A very brilliant piano layering beginning at 1:51 and the choir sounds on that MO are to die for!:D
Are the effects from the MO as well,or did you incorporate software effects?

On a side note,it's too bad that the music section of this forum is so dead....almost no activity here...no feedback & some people post their songs & just disappear.
It's no surprise really,as a lot of gear forums are like this.

Yea well... people may be a bit shy :)

No software effects were applied - no extra EQ or filters. MO and the M3 only

Does this mean that you're too shy to offer feedback to others here?I mean...in the last 3 years, you gave feedback to two people here..,.one of which, was a comment on the latency between the video & audio.

I find it difficult to believe that you dislike 99% of everything that's posted here.Where's your sense of community?
I just don't think it's right for you to expect feedback & not offer it to others. This category of the forum is all about you....maybe you should ask the administrator to change this category to "Skipp's Music" instead.

I really think music should be left out of gear forums entirely.

If you were around - you'd knew that this forum wasn't active AT ALL since lately. The date of people's registration is one thing, and the real activity is something totally different

My sense of what!? FFS I was the only idiot around here who actually helped people up till recently when people actualy started talking apart from the post of "What should I buy?!"

I just don't think it's right for you to expect feedback & not offer it to others.

a) I never asked for feedback, you comented anyway
b) I didn't comment on the rest of the stuff because I really didn't notice since the "new posts" notification is not working the way it should (I get my posts as "new" all the time).

And I really don't READ the forums other than the new posts that pop up now-and-then.

This category of the forum is all about you....maybe you should ask the administrator to change this category to "Skipp's Music" instead.

Good God man! How old are you?! 15!? What kind of whining is this!?
And if you take another look - you will see:

1.) The sticky "Your recordings" topic with many links from other users
2.) 90% of this subforum is actually filled with YOUR posts.

I didn't notice them because of the reason above, and I really cant make other
people comment on your posts.

I really think music should be left out of gear forums entirely.

Yea, and in the process, why don't we just stop playing music on our gear too?
Cause we all know our gear is just for gear-talk, not actually playing :D

I'm trying to pick your brain & see what you all about & you call this whining?Fact is,me-as well as some others here, acknowledge your music and you haven't done so with anyone else in the last year or so,period.
You simply don't bother with anyone else's music and I called you on it(which is a valid question) and you respond with hostility.

Then,on top of that, you make excuses such as "the notification function is not working" and that there basically is nothing to comment on recently, except for what I've posted?..what the hell is that,is that mature?

What relevance does the date of registration of certain members have to do with whether or not you choose to be active,or not active? You've been a moderator on here for years...so what are you talking about??

You never asked for feedback? No,not in certain terms....but if you post it,then you obviously want feedback and you always get feedback, don't you?

You're getting all bent out of shape & hitting me with a snot-nose attitude. When I was referring to a "sense of community",I was referring to THIS area of the forum, and not your active part in the gear end of it.

I've only been active on this forum for a few weeks and aside from participating in trying to help newbies as well,I also took an active part in taking the time to listen & respond to other's music here also.

I don't need recognition here on this forum for my music, because I get plenty of that on another forum I'm active in,but I would like things to work both ways here as well.

Hey,if you want to just moderate & help a few newbies along & just chit-chat about gear-then I think that's perfectly fine...so why post your music then?

Burn4him & KeysMcCarthy were thoughtful enough to participate in this area recently, and evidently, the this area of the forum was sufficiently active for them.

I made an inquiry, because I waned to know why you don't participate in this area and if you don't like the way I ask a question,oh well....I call it as I see it and I am not at all surprised at your tantrum, over this.

I joined this forum 3 years ago and left it after a few weeks, because a few newbies at the time, were accusing me of being some sort of solicitor from a corporation, just because I had more experience & product knowledge than them.

Those people were the most rank amateurs I had ever come across and I got a lot of attitude, when I was just trying to help.
Besides all that, this forum back then, was pretty low in attendance, except for those rank amateur ingrates.
It's not much different now in terms of activity, but I noticed that Burn4him took a really active part in moving thins along,so I wanted to do whatever I could to reinvigorate this forum if I could, because this is really the only keyboard-specific forum out there.

I am not going to get into a f**king flame match over this bullshit,so I'm out of here....time to move on and forget about this lemon of a forum.

I did not say I read stuff ~I posted~, I said that the new post notification often marks my latest reply as "new" - which makes no sence since it's showing it to me.

I'm active on tons of forums and apart from reading the new posts that the forum showes I really don't have the time to poke around every single post and look into it.

I still find it funny how you chose me to pick on, and not a single other forum member - and for some reason even they didn't comment on anything.

Anyway... if this is the way you feel then goodbye and have a great time.

Elwoodblues69, looks like you've really got the blues mate! I find your remarks rather childish and uncalled for. Being a product specialist who has so much experience, but is here dising all newbie/ amateurs as 'rank' and 'ingrate', getting into a slagin match with Skipp over a simple link to some of his/her music. Whether Skip chooses to comment on people's music or not is entirely his perogative. I don't believe anyone here is commanding you to comment on their music. That is entirely your choice. To be on a forum like this reffering to yourself thus: "just because I had more experience & product knowledge than them.." is quite frankly self centered, unprofessional and shows how much you wish to dominate over others who may be just as knowledgeable as you. I think all of that back chat is just uncalled for here, mighty sir. So lets just get a grip of our agendas and what we really are about. This is a worthy forum and that's why you and I joined in the first place. Lets just quit the BS and grow up. I too will also post original music if I want to demonstrate a sonic point, and likewise offer critical or praiseworthy feedback on anthing I see fit. Chill Out man!!!:D

By the way Skipp, your track is as we say "the dog's bollocks" man/girl, meaning it is great, brilliant! Besides the rant, Eblues69's comment is kinda accurate in comparison. Unless I am not hearing the full quality spetrum of your audio, I would probably mess about with EQ and filtering a bit more. Thanks for sharing.

Skipp!
That track is awesome. No danger of falling asleep, one can just loose oneself in the beauty of those sounds. Want more!
Now there is no doubt that my next keyboard will be a Yamaha. The piano on my Ketron SD1, is pretty good, but your sound is in another class. Now the only question is if the psr s910 will be good enough, or if I should spend a bit more money.
It would be fine if people would post more stuff with their Yamahas.

The piano in that song is not from the MO. It is a Yamaha piano, but not from the MO.
It's a sample library of a beautiful Yamaha C7 grand that's available for the Motif and the M3 keyboards. The samples are around 300ish mb.

The part 2 of the chambers trilogy has one of the bright pianos from the MO though

Yeah, no kidding. Is there a keyboard or music chat that you know of? A good music site? Thanks.
