Trying this for the first time. I picked up Komplete Full during the summer of sound sale, and some other free random VSTis.

This is just a flute playing the melody with a 2nd track with double bass bowing.

Old 100th in G major

I wanted some pads but the attack was so slow it didn't quite follow the changing chords, but the double basses were fairly responsive.

Wondering if anyone else is doing this kind of thing and could share what your go-to instrumentation is?

I'll be creating more hymns, possible for use in church if they want it i dunno.

I feel a little overwhelmed with the sheer number of VSTi's that are available, and find myself flipping thru too-many options. It's difficult for me to narrow my search.

I'm enjoying this very much and appreciate any wisdom from the local greybeards.

Hello! I prefer to play Hauptwerk VST organ. To say better - Hauptwerk is the Host for samples of different organs. There are a lot of free samples sets (read - "Free organs").
Here is the examples of sounds of the default free organ https://disk.yandex.ru/i/6RHeaaGYt4bs8A
You can use one or three MIDI keyboards in your set also as MIDI pedal-manual, but you can also use one MIDI keyboard and assign all virtual manuals to the same one your MIDI keyboard.
There a lot of examples of Hauptwerk organs on YouTube. Please take a look!
P.S. To say - I like the music you play!!
