Connecting to Smart Pianist on iphone

How do I connect my Yamaha P121 to iphone to use Smart Pianist App? So far, I think I use the USB B on the back of the piano which has a USB A on the other end. Then I need a female USB to lightning adapter to connect to the phone? I'm about to buy .

the adaptor so I want to make sure!

You need the Apple Camera adapter, there are two versions but the one I have has the USB A socket and a Lightning socket.

Connect everything, turn on P121 then turn on iPad and mine worked flawlessly.

Do note that the videos showing how Smart Pianist works was shot using a much higher end piano than your P121 where the functionality is more feature rich, retaining the settings was also a bit flaky if I remember correctly as I no longer have the P121.
