Hi, I am a little confused concerning copyrights on preset accompaniment 'styles'. I have a small Yamaha E413 and composed and wrote the tracks for a song, using one of the styles on the keyboard and recorded it.. I now have interest in the song and it is for charity but I am worried that the 'style' has a copyright on it, can anyone help with this...

In general, all Yamaha styles are free to use in a selfcomposed song. However, If you play in a public place (for free or for money) a song composed by someone else you should be aware that copyrights may be involved. I wouldn't be to worried as long as you don't play in a concerthall or stadium for a large audience.

In the USA I do not think rhythm can be copyrighted.
