Hi,

Can anyone help with this problem?
I'm using Cubase with a Yamaha MM6 synthesiser.
The USB driver for the MM6 is correctly installed.
The default MIDI ports are set up with the MM6 as both input and output.
In the preferences panel the MIDI is set to Thru.
The MM6 is set up for use with a PC.
I can play the keyboard and see it in Cubase but when I play back a MIDI file in Cubase the keyboard doesn’t sound.

All advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul.

Do you have the MM6's audio line out connected to anything? Probably obvious, but you didn't mention it.

What channel is the MM6 expecting to receive MIDI on? Is Cubase sending on that channel?

Other than that, I don't know what to suggest. It's not a hard thing to set up, so there's probably something obvious you're missing or something you didn't do right.

Can you get the MM6 to play when run through any other DAW or VST (if a VST, mute the VST's output, and pick one that has MIDI out; Native Instruments B4-II demo comes to mind as one that's pretty lightweight).
