Fred Coulter
Collector of ancient keyboards
I probably spend more time at my piano lessons sight reading than actually playing prepared pieces. This has to do with the fact that I play a lot more by ear than through reading music. My sight reading skills when singing are pretty good -- it's what got me into the Georgia All State Chorus back when I was in high school -- but on keyboards? Not so much.
I bought my teacher a subscription to Pianist magazine for Christmas. So when she gets a new issue, we tend to look at some of the pieces in there rather than the sight reading books. Last week when I looked at this piece, I thought it might be interesting with a non-piano sound. So here it is.
