Hello, New guy here. I have decided to return to my piano roots after a 40 year detour on guitar and bass. I have a Casio WK200 in my home studio, but wanted a better piano feel and sound so just bought a Yamaha P45 used/mint off of eBay. I know on my WK200 the last 6 upper register notes get pretty muted and thin, but on the P45 the top 6 keys are just silent except for a acoustic thud as it strikes the pad. Is this common? Probably should have just paid $70 more and got a new one.

thanks

The keyswitches are probably dead and need cleaning.

It's a common problem on keyboards stored without a proper dust cover.

It's a DIY for the brave and foolish, or else take it to a keyboard shop and pay $200 for the repair.

Gary ;)
