Hello all. Is anyone out there using the USB digital audio output from the DGX-670? To what did you connect it to and what hardware components (other than a laptop) did you use? How good is this output?

The Yamaha Owner's Manual was its useless norm. See below where I have done a cut & paste from that publication.

Connecting to a Computer ([USB TO HOST] terminal) By connecting a computer to the [USB TO HOST] terminal, you can transfer MIDI data or Audio data between the instrument and the computer. For details on using a computer with this instrument, refer to the “Computer-related Operations” on the website. NOTICE • Use an AB type USB cable of less than 3 meters. USB 3.0 cables cannot be used. • If you are using a DAW (digital audio workstation) application with this instrument, set the Audio Loopback function (page 93) to off. Otherwise, a loud sound may occur, depending on the settings of the computer or the application software. Instrument USB terminal USB cable Computer.

Thanks in advance.

Noob myself, but a DAW should identify that there's a USB Audio device connected. Then it's up to the DAW to do something with it. The quality should be at the level of the digital synth inside the 670. It's not converted from analog sound.
