Hi, I'm new to the forums. I recently had a mishap in which I was switching keyboards around(Kurzweil PC1x out and Sp6 in) on my home setup. While doing so, I accidentally put the PC1x adapter(9VAC 3.4A) into the Sp6(DC15V 2.5A) which was switched on. Surprisingly, it fit. Unsuprisingly, it also fried the Sp6, which now won't turn on. My question is: is it possible there is a fuse/PCB protection circuit in the board that I can replace? Do any of the forum members have any experience with the Sp6? I've opened up the PC1X and my PC88 a few times to fix things. Just wondering if there's an easy fix for the Sp6 before I attempt any keyboard surgery.

On my PC3K which has a power supply built in and a line cord input there is a standard 1 amp fuse.

Before you open it up I'd suggest contacting Jean Bellfeuil at Kurzweil Support and asking his opinion.

Also ask at https://forums.godlike.com.au/ and http://www.ksetlist.com/ and see what they have to say about it.

It might have been a reverse polarity issue with the wrong power supply but I can't believe Kurzweil saved a whole nickel by leaving a diode out of the circuit. :p
