I'm going to travel for a while and what to put my 2 yamaha keyboards into storage. I live in Southern California and the temperatures can get up into the 90s during summer. Wondering if climate control is necessary. Thanks.
It couldn't hurt. The temperatures might get into the 90s outside, but what about on the inside of a storage unit? I'd say it's better to be safe than sorry.
It's not the heat that cooks old keyboards (or old electronics); it's the humidity. Southern California is pretty dry, so it might not be a problem. (Unless you're on the ocean, but then you've also got salt issues.)
