Hello guys, this is my 1st post on here, I have a Korg PA4x and Yamaha Genos, currently i have midi out of Korg to Midi in on the Genos so both keyboards play through the Genos speakers.

I have a Denon mini Fifi with Aux in RCA plugs, after reading the Genos manual rear panel, there is a digital out socket to Hi Fi system so purchased the splitter to L and R RCA plugs, when i have tried digital out to Denon Aux in, i am receiving interference feedback, i am referring to socket 35 in the Genos manual.

Can anyone kindly advise if there is a method to play through HiFi ?

Much appreciated Dave

Line level outputs on electronic instruments are compatible with stereo line ins. All you need is 1/4" TS to RCA cables and a direct connection between the two.

hello happyrat1, firstly thank you for your response, i think that is what i have, the 1/4 to RCA splitter cable 1 x plug into digital out on the Genos, split to 2 RCA, just get inference feedback so unsure if this is a setting in the Genos or i was doing this incorrect...

Use the L&R main outs to an aux in on the stereo. Red is Right Channel.

The onboard speakers may have a menu control function. Worry about that once you're up and running.

Im confused by the title, you said digital outputs but show a picture of analog outputs. My pc3 has both a digital output as well as analog outputs.

We take your word for it.

Dave: If you look at the panel chart you'll see there is no digital line out. It's strictly Audio Main Outs and Auxillaries.

The Genos has a single digital spdif out (24bit, 44.1kHz) They could've used an optical jack, but chose the one that looks like RCA.

It is *not* RCA, if you plug rca into that you'll get 'noise'. The single digital out carries a stereo signal, you can't split it with an RCA Y cable. It is only to go into a device with spdif digital in, like recorders or home theatres. Your PA4x doesn't have a digital in, so your Genos wouldn't be able to go digital out into it. Similarly, the PA4x video out, while appearing to be an RCA jack as well, does *not* provide any audio signal, and you would again, just get noise plugging the video out into a regular rca audio input.

Just because a jack looks the same, never plug in stuff randomly in... I once set an old hi fi on fire (intentionally, as this was the 80s and there was no recycling)... I thought it would be cool to take a line level signal into the 1/4" mic input on my old Aiwa, but I knew it would set itself on fire with that voltage difference, so I did it in our completely concrete parking garage, instead of inside our apartment. Strummed 1 chord, which you could hear for about a second, before flames shot out of the hi fi. It was pretty epic.

I've also had a customer not listen to me and use a regular guitar patch cable 1/4" to 1/4" and stick it in between a head and cab, which I warned him was 75v, not the usual 1.25 volts of line level, so it would likely catch fire and melt.

He shot back at me with "I'm in the A/V club, I know what I'm doing! Don't try to scare me!" and yup, melted his 1/4" cable and damaged the cab with the flaming drippings (hey, at least the head was ok).

Moral of this is please don't randomly plug things into jacks that look correct, but aren't the same as what you think they are.

Incidentally, RCA tipped spdif cable *will* work for regular RCA use, but not the other way around (you can't use a regular analog RCA cable on digital spdif)

I'm beginning to see why they switched to USB B digital audio output for Genos2.
