Hi Everyone.

I've just purchased an XK 5 plus the lower keyboard. I'm looking for a gig bag that will allow me to move the unit from car to gig that will protect it - as well as allow me to move it around by myself. All the bags I can find that are suitable aren't deep enough.

Does anyone know of a bag that would do the trick? I'm in Australia, but happy to import something if it's suitable.

I'd appreciate your ideas/comments!

Somebody put a custom order in for the Hammond XK-5 w/ lower manual at
http://roadrunnercases.com
It's probably very heavy, being as it's the hard-shell case. I would consider trying to find separate bags for the XK manuals. It's a hassle taken it all apart, but it may be easier to transport if you have no roadie/buddy.

Another hard-shell case option is Viking Cases.

I'm also seen someone with a case from Sweden:

As for myself, I have no choice but to re-box it all, drive to the gig, and unbox it. I think that'll do the trick for now.

I have custom case from roadrunner. "Light weight" version, but used for limited local transport and not cheap (>$400), expensive alternative to avoid the factory box route. Good luck

I've heard from the Hammond importer in Australia that there is now a gig bag suitable for the XK5 and XLK5 together as one unit. I'm unsure of the exact price, but I have ordered one through the importer (a Hammond-Suzuki product I believe) and will let you know what it's like when it arrives.

I bought the Hammond XK5/XLK5 bag and have tried it for one gig. The stitching gave way on one of the side handles the first time I took it out of the car, but other than that it is well designed and made. The entire unit is now able to be carried around easily and is better protected while in transit than just wrapped in a blanket, etc. RRP is $700. It's protecting a $10k investment, so it's not too bad when thought of like that. However, as with most Hammond stuff in Australia, it's not cheap.

So I just bought the XK5 with lower manual as well. Found this just now...
I think you have to go the custom route.
love my Nord bags and the Mono bags..
maybe they will also do a custom?
