I see you're from South Carolina. My son is a marine and recently was posted to Beaufort. Is that anywhere near you?

The air station. From the pictures he's sent it looks like a beautiful area.

Yes, they call this area the "low county" and Beaufort County is mostly interconnected islands. There is water everywhere, large old live Oak trees,
palm trees (Palmettos), etc so it is very pretty and scenic. Hilton Head Island is
part of this County, and only about 30 miles South of the Town of Beaufort.
Some segments of the movies "The Big Chill" and "Forest Gump" were filmed here.
