SOLVED BELOW!!!!!

Hello the search would NOT let me search by model number it kept excluding it as too short!! they need to fix this!

hi i just picked up a great fun Yamaha with hammer action and waited 88 keys!!! DGX-620 new unsold in box for 200.00 <<< it's is older model and Yamaha says needs to use computer only through usb midi.. ie.. cannot connect to any other midi direct! but i thought i remembered reading some place about a "box" that will do this!!!
i want to use it's KB to control my WK 7500, oh and also use it for some of it's tones!
thnxs

Unfortunately the search function can be a pain in these forum apps.

You can use google

e.g. Keyboard Forums DGX returns

In answer to your question, I would say you need to get a MIDI-USB connector like this
https://www.storedj.com.au/products/CME-U2MIDI
and connect the DGX to a computer. You need to then have the computer retransmit the MIDI signal to the WK.

Thank you for the response Y-man
though as both the Yammi and the Casio are usb-usb I have been able to control either one from the other via computer!!! without an adapter to get to the puter... prob is without computer they cannot see each other.. that adapter would not hook to either one on the midi side! i thought i read somewhere, and I thought it was in this forum some place... but could be mistaken about an accessory box or something that would let you hook usb midi keyboards to other midi devices or together!! I'm trying to not have to take a puter along if i use them to play out.. the graded piano keys on the yammi are better action for me.

The DGX-620 does not have the DIN midi connectors, and the USB connection on the keyboard is designed only for interface with a computer. External USB adapter cables do not have the capability to convert the data to control another external midi module or keyboard. It seems that the DGX620 also only transmits data on channel 1. I searched the web and found other DGX620 owners who had the same issue, but no one with an adapter that worked. Don

Yes, after you update firmware to latest 1.1.0 version, this will work for you, without a computer. Version 1.1.0 adds Yamaha support.
The new firmware and instructions on how to upgrade can be found on our website in downloads section.
Sent from my iPad. Play music with your iPad, iPhone or iPod and your digital piano - check out www.iConnectivity.com.

pretty cool!!!!!!
