Hello,
thank you for the warm welcome to this forum.

Until now, I have been a passive reader of your threads, and for a few of them, I would have already had questions or answers, which I will now be able to contribute thanks to be registered, despite my limited English skills.

What I like about this forum is that it defines itself as a place for keyboard players of all experience levels and talents. Since I wasn't able to receive proper music lessons in my youth, my musical abilities have remained somewhat underdeveloped.

I am primarily interested in the hardware and software of electronic keyboard instruments, which have fascinated me ever since Bob Moog introduced the world's first modular, voltage-controlled synthesizer in 1964.

Over time, this interest has led me to build or acquire various keyboard instruments.

Since my retirement, I occasionally play music on a Yamaha Electone HS-8 and a Korg Pa1000, and I look forward to participating in the exchange of information, ideas, and experiences among users on specific topics here.

Kind regards,
haager

Welcome Haager
You'll find an active and friendly community here, and with some very knowledgeable and talented musicians, keyboard players and some real technical wizards.
I play the Korg Pa5X and the Yamaha Genos 2, mostly easy listening music. I'm a Yamaha PSR Performer, and
I've previously owned and played many organs from Yamaha, Technics, Orla and a few church organs.
Enjoy your time here.

Yes, welcome to the forum. Like yourself, I'm somewhat limited in my musical abilities, particularly when it comes to playing in certain 'weird' keys, so I tend to make good use of the transpose function.

I used to have a Yamaha HS-8T, which is the full cabinet version of your organ and although it has transpose buried in one of the Multi-Menu's, I sometimes found it annoying having to search for it. So, I modified mine so that I could adjust transpose up or down, using the two buttons on the bottom right panel that were originally used for loading RAM packs, which I didn't have anyway.

I really like my Pa1000 but still have a lot to learn on getting the best sounds from it - time is the enemy!

Regards, Al

Welcome.

Good pair of keyboards you have there.

There are a few Pa enthusiasts here.

This bit is aimed at AL on getting the best sounds out of a Pa.

Standard Pa sounds are slightly muted with a pretty level frequency profile.

There is an equaliser which is available to be enabled, once enabled the sounds come alive and are far brighter. There are six preset profiles available to choose but each is basically a starter for 10 as each is available for fine tuning to suit your own ears and playing environments.

A weak point of the 700 & 1000 is the main Acoustic Piano but there is a tone available to Download and install, seek out Reuben’s posts which have links to his download site, it really is way better IMO than Korg’s own.
