Greetings from Malaysia !

I'm currently researching for a new keyboard to replace my very dependable 19 years old PSR-650. Playing music just as a hobby and to have some fun with my 3 kids, and probably resuming my long lost hobby of MIDI/MOD sequencing I've left since 1997. Well, those were the days.

Please welcome me, and nice knowing all of you showing great support with each other.

Thanks !

Hi Sothye. Welcome aboard. I remember and loved the old MOD and S3M files from the 90's well.

A few respectable candidates to replace your PSR would include:

Yamaha PSR-e433

Yamaha PSR-i455

Casio WK 7500

Casio XW-P1

And Casio XW-G1

Research them on Youtube and in your local stores if you need to get an idea what each one is all about.

While I realize you've been happily using Yamaha all of these years I will warn you that the current Yamaha keyboards are not USB MIDI class compliant and require proprietary drivers from Yamaha in order to connect to your computer. That means unless you are 100% Mac or Windows you are out of luck. Yamaha keyboards will not talk to Linux. Not now, not ever.

Anyway, like I said, watch a few youtubes, do your homework and if you have any technical questions feel free to ask us. We're always here :)

Hi Gary.

Yeah, Scream Tracker, Impulse Tracker, etc. Have posted few songs on there too and even on some compo.

Thanks for the extensive list and the prompt response. Definitely I'll find my time to research each keyboard you've listed. I really like the team spirit here. Thanks a lot !

You're very welcome man. Get back to us when you've finally made a choice.

Remember, sometimes a keyboard can be like a boat. The two happiest moments in a boat owner's life are the moment he buys it and the moment he sells it :D :D :D

Gary ;)
