Help Required with SD Card-Casio CTK-810IN

Hi,

I am new to this site and this is my first post.
I am trying to use SD card with my Casio CTK 810 IN.
I tried both SDHC card and Micro SD card.
When I insert card and press the Card button, the screen says "Err Format'.
Please help me regarding this
I want to record my performance and use it later for practice and transfer it to computer.

Hi Shridhar,

I do not own a CTK 810 IN but a CTK-7200 and in the manual for my keyboard
the SDHC card MUST be formatted by the keyboard for it to read it correctly
So have a look at the manual with regards to formatting the SDHC card.

But the problem is the maual which I have does not say anything about SD card.
I do not know how to format the card through keyboard.

Hej Shridar,

download the manual for CTK-850IN and read page E-60. Their they describe how to format a SD-card.

I get very quick replies.
The problem is I cannot find manual for CTK-810 IN. The site provides manual for CTK-810 not for IN.
And in that the pages are only till E-57.
Can you please provide me a link to download manual for CTK-810IN.

The basics will be the same for most casio keyboards anyway

There is nothing mentioned for SD card in this manual.
Anyways, I will try to download manuals of some other instruments.

Look at page E-137 and it explains there how to format the sdch card in the keyboard

you should download CTK-850IN (not CTK-810IN this I didn't find). And in 850IN see page E-60.

Hi Goldi,

Thank you very much.
This pdf contains all the information related to SD card.
But while following the steps I am stuck again at one place.
When I pressed on Yes to start formatting the screen first says 'please wait'
and moments later it says "Err Format"
I have already formatted the card and removed its write protection.

Do you have any idea on how to resolve it?

Now I can play files from my SD Card, These are the steps I have done,
1 Changed my SD card,
2 Formatted card from laptop
3 Created a folder named "MUSICDAT"
4 converted MIDI files to .CM2 file using casio SMF converter in Windows XP
5 copy these files to the folder MUSICDAT
6 Inserted card in the keyboard
7 Selected the key CARD
8 Press button play.

Thanks for the the above info. I was infact trying different ways..
I used my existing SD card (that i had for my camera) for my 860in, and i too was getting the same error as Sridhar..
When i read that i need to buy a new SD Card, i thought "another bit of purchase again'
But thanks to Nidhin comments
Steps that i followed
a. created a Folder named "MUSICDAT"
b. copied the converted MIDI files into the folder
c. inserted card in the keyboard
d. Load the card

and Lo it worked...
