Help with breaking out a bass only synthesizer or module

I've got a Roland VR-700 and I'm trying to figure out a way to midi out my left hand to play bass through a separate amp. I don't want to split the VR700 keyboard since I love the low end piano etc sounds. I could use help determining how (if possible) to midi out to a single note synthesizer that would only play the lower octaves. Or whatever options people might have. Thanks
