Hey Guys,

I'm new here, and I have recently started learning keyboards..

I am required to learn a few Thin Lizzy songs on Keyboard, but the problem is, they tune half a step down to Eflat..

I know this can be done on a keyboard, and I have done it once on my keyboard (by chance)

My keyboard is pretty bad, its a beginners one, a Yamaha PSR-170..

On the keyboard there is an Overall button, and if you press it 5 times, it brings you to Tuning, then I press the - button, and it appears to be in -01 Tuning, but it doesn't actually change the tuning?

I'm wondering, is there a button i need to press to activate the tuning??

Thanks in advance for any response..

Phil

I don't know a thing about your keyboard but is it possible that -01 might mean 1/100 of a semitone? Try moving it to -99 or -100 and see if 'e' now sounds like 'eb'.

The function you are after is "transpose" NOT "tuning".

As DelD says above, tuning is for matching to other instruments (when it is easier for you to tune to an acoustic piano for instance)

Look up "transpose" on your manual and see if it has this function....
