Dear Reader

I have a CME XKey Keyboard. I would like to play a synth Yamaha TG55 with it. If I connect the XKey to my computer a red light i seen.

I have a midi hub (Midisport 2x2) but this work with the power via the USB socket.

Is there a USB hub that has a power adaptor which an feed the XKey?

Thank you for the suggestion of a solution.

First of all it's a controller, not a synth. Without a computer it will not make any sound without the proper soft synth software.

Secondly a powered hub would not do diddly for you.

The only possible way to use it without a computer is to get a standalone USB MIDI Host like the Kenton

http://www.kentonuk.com/products/items/utilities/usb-host.shtml

AND...

A hardware MIDI Synth Rack Module like a used Korg Triton Rack or the Peavey Musebox or the Ketron SD1 or SD2.

Or you could definitely in a pinch plug it into the TG55 and use it as a module.

THIS is the ONLY way it will make any music without a computer, but you definitely WILL NEED the Kenton USB MIDI Host device.

BTW, the MIDIsport will never work without a computer and the necessary drives on it's own.

Gary ;)
