First of all make sure the cable Marked IN is connected to the connector marked OUT and vice versa.

This is VERY important.

Thanks for reply,
Please look at the photo. It's good connection? (If yes, cable is broken or I have to set chanel or something on my keyboard.

I can't tell from the photo what the markings are on the cables themselves.

Sometimes the cheap MIDI USB interfaces are DOA as well.

Goldi is correct. Upon inspection of a larger image of the photo I can also say the MIDI cables are hooked up correctly.

Page E-60 of the user manual deals with the MIDI settings of the CTK-750.

https://www.servicecasio.com/web/download/manual/CTK-750.pdf

From what I can see MIDI output is enabled by default and there is no setting to turn it on or off.

That means that your interface is probably defective.

That's actually pretty common with those $5 Chinese interfaces.

All the same, study the manual chapter on MIDI just in case you see something that I missed.

BTW, before you scrap your interface, could you give us more info on what you are trying to do exactly with the MIDI connection?

What software are you trying to communicate with and what version of Windows are you running?

Often it's really just a software issue.

I have Windows 7 OS.

Cable which I have: KPO3881

I want to connect my keyboard to PC because I'd like to play with "Hauptwerk" [You have to check what is it because I can't use links]

BTW As I know the diode should blink when I press the key, don't you?

I hope so that the OS or something is 'wrong' but not cable :p

Ehhh... As I thought... Keyboard or cable have to be broken. (all programs, see the cable, but cable or keyboard don't give data to PC) Diode on cable don't blink.

Firstly you are correct. The plug marked IN connects to the socket marked OUT and vice versa.

Secondly just unzip and run MIDIOX, then from OPTIONS select MIDI Devices and select your interface.

Then hit a few keys on the Casio and they should display in the MIDIOX main window.

If nothing shows up either your interface is not properly recognized by Windows or else it's just dead.

Otherwise you should see a string of MIDI codes with each keypress.

Easiest way to test for bad hardware is to swap out with another one. Hopefully you have a spare and hopefully they're not both bad.

Try and borrow one from somebody to test if it's the keyboard MIDI ports.

There's not much to check on a MIDI port with a Multimeter except the VCC voltage.

The only way to check the signal pins is with an Oscilloscope or a Logic Probe or a Logic Analyzer.

Seriously though, these things cost more to fix than replace.

One last thing.

On SOME cheapo Chinese interfaces the IN and OUT markings are reversed.

You can try switching the cables around without damaging the unit, BUT do it WITH POWER SWITCHED OFF!

Any keyboard built in the last 20 years or so should have diode protection for reversed connections.

You may have an interface that doesn't adhere to the standard MIDI markings.
