Hej Sanmesh Ajmera,

for me as a european it is difficult to give you a suggestion for instruments for indian music.

I would recommend the Roland E09IN because I think it has the better sound (polyphomy and speakers) and more choice of special indian sounds and styles too - but it is more expencive.

Here a short overwiew:

Yamaha PSR I455:

Polyphony: only 32

Preset Number of Voices 753 (incl. Indian 19 Voices)

Preset Number of Preset Styles 206 (incl.Indian 23 styles)

Registration Number of Buttons 4 ( x 8 banks )

Price: 23.900--

Roland E09IN:

Polyphony: only 64

676 tones including 56 Indian voices

135 styles including 63 Indian styles

133 Music Assistant with 69 programmed for Indian music

User Program: 100 program

Better loudspeakers

Price: 29.500,--

If you have the possibility you should go to a shop and test both instruments by yourself.

Hej Sanmesh Ajmera,

with Roland instruments the Registrations are called User Programs.

User Programs specify the type of tone and music style, together with other settings such as the keyboard part and various additional parameters. You can edit the settings and save them as a user program.

The E-09 provides 100 user programs (00–99). You can use these to store settings for most of the front panel operations and function menus.
