Been able to save setups, do splits etc but recently and for no known reason when I make a 2-sound setup, the result is the entire board has only one sound. No split. And it's always the second sound. No matter how I rearrange the order of steps taken in the setup. Confused. I haven't done anything different. I even did a factory reset to rid any possible misconfigurations. No improvement.

Try reloading firmware. Could be bit rot.

Gotta download that firmware? Load it in thru the USB.

But the board is only 1 yr old.

Power fluctuations, cosmic rays. Bits go bad for looking at them wrong.

I imagine there's not many nuances to loading the firmware into the piano. Or are there?

Ideally I'd wait to hear from Kawai... on the matter of installing firmware but its Saturday (I sent them a malfunction report) - they're closed and I'm losing time. Which is serious. Think I should install it now?
