Are there any programs out there that will let me map the keys (letter keys on a normal typing keyboard) to the keys on a Virtual Keyboard (Musical type)?
I'd like to play a little using asdfghjkl, if you know what I mean.
Some programs do that automatically. Many (all?) Native Instruments VSTs do that: B4-II, Absynth, and the like. If you don't have a real keyboard though, you're probably better off with a point-and-click method of making music (use the piano roll in Cubase, FL Studio, or something similar), rather than confusing yourself by learning different fingerings that won't be of any benefit when you play on a real keyboard.
