Received my Korg Pa5x just under a week ago and WOW what a brilliant instrument it is👍
I’m still getting to grips with slightly different operating system to my Pa4x but it’s all falling into place quite quickly.
As I gig with my PA4x I have a large data base of songs etc that required migrating from the Pa4x to the PA5x. Keith at AC Hamilton did his magic and sorted everything for me before delivery and I have to say all that’s required are a few minor tweaks to get to where I want it. So many thanks to AC Hamilton for their help which was never too much trouble.
I thought the PA4x would be a hard act to follow, but I’m well impressed with the PA5x as I’m sure it’s going to be a great piece of kit.
Glad of the upgrade? You bet👍

Hi Keysman,
I am pleased you are happy with your new purchase. The PA5X is indeed an amazing keyboard and you have picked the right time to purchase one. It has had it's fair share of criticism but fortunately, with the last two O/S updates it has become far more stable. There have been issues with the LED's, but Korg accept this and will replace them free of charge (even if you are out of warranty). The last O/S 1.4.0 has given us several new features also (Recording Studio).

After owning several Tyros keyboards I decided to come over to Korg arrangers and I'm happy to have done so.
I have to confess that I am a little confused that Yamaha only sell the Genos (and now the Genos 2) in one keyboard length. The fact that you can get the PA5X in 61 note, 76 note and 88 note weighted is very clever marketing by Korg.

With regards to A.C. Hamilton, I am always impressed with the Youtube videos made by Justin. He seems a nice Guy with a talent for keyboards.

Hi Chris,
To be honest I always bide my time before upgrading to a newly released Korg keyboard (at least 2 years).
The simple reason being that, until it’s out there for initial buyers to report any anomalies giving Korg the opportunity to provide future OS updates addressing any issues. This definitely appears to the case for the PA5x.
i now feel the time is right and so far the Pa5x is exceeding my expectations.😊

I was given duff info by one of the Korg UK staff about the 5X, he indicated that it would be released two years before it actually was.

After it was released in 2022 I waited for the extortionately high initial price to come down.

I bought my Pa5X 76 in Feb 2024 for £2900 from Music Matters in Preston, Keith at Hamilton’s would not budge on price with it being £3150 at their showroom.

It is not the first time that Hamilton’s have lost a sale due to their pricing, my 5X was keyboard number three that they lost selling.

I became very annoyed at Hamilton’s, when the 5X first came out I went into the store and I was playing one with my headphones on and one of the ignorant Sales Guys started a demo of a Genos 2 at very high volume and it was not a quick demo at volume. So yeah, even if they had price matched Music Matters they still would not have had my business.

The only thing good about Hamilton’s is Justin’s videos.

I share your sentiments exactly. Went ahead and purchased the 76 key version about a year ago despite being well aware of the criticisms that it was released before it was ready for prime time, confident that Korg would eventually deliver on its initial feature set promises. The 1.4 release has for the most part accomplished that. The other thing that has pleasantly surprised me is just how good the PA5X serves as a MIDI controller - very powerful and flexible MIDI out/in functionality to control softsynths.
