Loving the learning curve on my Pa5X, running 1.4.3.1 and no issues I can speak of. But can some one point out how I might access the sound effects and drum kits / sounds to be able to add them to a keyboard set or assign to a Matrix location ?

Welcome

page 337 details the Matrix.

FX are detailed in section 38 of the manual.

FX are accessed via the Mixer which you should see on the tab at the bottom of the LCD screen

Once you get ones head around the intricacies of a Pa keyboard then do save the Sound and or Style to a User Bank.

If you have not already done so, then do Backup your system. I cannot stress this enough for when an Update is installed it will overwrite all saved User Data. Having the Backup file or the SaveAll file as we call it enables the User Data to be restored.

Hence when you have saved data to the User Banks and before shutting down the Pa do perform a SaveAll routine, File > Media then save to the USB memory stick. I use the format yyyymmdd for the file and make a written note of what I have saved to User Data. BTW I use two USB memory sticks, one in each of the sockets and perform the SaveAll twice, once to each storage device

I've mentioned this once before on the forum but I believe it bears repeating - let me suggest a great resource that makes it much easier to find and digest content in the PA5X manual (or any manual for that matter): Google's free NotebookLM web tool. You basically point it at the Korg manual (or manuals) and then ask it whatever question you might have in plain English on any aspect of the PA5X for which Korg has prepared information. I have used it a number of times to ask "How to...?" questions that might span various sections of the PA5X manual. NotebookLM will almost instantly return a very comprehensive response in a cogent and articulate manner, integrating and synthesizing where necessary across multiple sections in those manuals. Sure, you could piece the information together for yourself, but NotebookLM does an extremely thorough search in a tiny fraction of the time you would need. For the record, NotebookLM is not the only AI-based tool that does this very well. I also use Perplexity.AI which can accomplish pretty much the same thing.

Great advice.

The Korg manual was originally writted by a Klingon who was having a bad day.

Thank you for this advice - I've used it for my Korg and it's been a great help searching by "what you're trying to look for" rather than eyeing each section :)
