KORG PA700 (or other PAs) - Custom Style Fill-in not triggering (var 2/fill-in 2)

Hi Guys,
I'm creating custom styles on the PA700 (which is the same process on 600, 900, 1000, 4x, 5x etc i assume).
I've created VAR 1 and VAR 2
and also FILL 1 and FILL 2

But when i go to style play (after saving and exit record mode), both the Var 1 and 2 buttons are triggering Fill-in 1 (instead of Var 2 triggering Fill 2).
Here is what i've checked:
- Record mode definitely has 2 different fill in patterns assigned to Fill 1 and Fill 2
- The auto fill in setting (that can be set to target, current or smart), I have tried all combos and it still only triggers fill 1

Has anyone had this issue or a tip/trick to get around this? Or if i've missed a step somewhere..

Thanks Biggles.. i did come across this video .. but its so hard to hear him talk - i'll try again with headphones. I'm sure he's covered everything .. will take a look. I need to also find better piano samples .. the defaults on Korg are just meh .. I've been a Yamaha user previously and their lower end keyboards do better piano tbh!

Go onto the Korg Forums website and search for Rueben’s piano sample for the Pa series.

It is vastly better than the standard Default Offering.

I feel the same way about some videos, but it is possible to read a transcript of each video at your leisure.

Lol yes - people just record and post - don't even do a sound check? .. Thanks for the transcript - I'll search up on the fills and what he's posted ... i do think my scenario (fill 2 not being activated) is an anomaly rather than a programming issue - however need to get to the bottom of it..

Thanks mate - i'll do that. Isn't korg forums the website that's not functional anymore - takes forever to load - however there's a couple with similar names - i'll look it up. I did find "Reuben" here, but none of his posts mention it - 1 does, but the link is outdated. I'll continue my research into this .. !

Don't bother.. i found Reuben's post and instructions, will look into that and working with the piano samples if it all works out - thanks again for the pointer!

Following is a simple Autofill Test you could try:

Sequence with Autofill enabled, Cue Mode "immediate, current measure", Autofill Mode "CURRENT VARIATION":
1. User starts StylePlay with Variation 1
2. User presses Variation 2: current running var1 measure switches to FILL 1 and then continues with var2
3. User presses Variation 1: current running var2 measure switches to FILL 2 and then continues with var1
4. User presses Variation 1 again: current runnig var1 measure switches to FILL 1 and then continues with var1

Sequence with Autofill enabled, Cue Mode "immediate, current measure", Autofill Mode "TARGET VARIATION":
1. User starts StylePlay with Variation 1
2. User presses Variation 2: current running var1 measure switches to FILL 2 and then continues with var2
3. User presses Variation 1: current running var2 measure switches to FILL 1 and then continues with var1
4. User presses Variation 1 again: current running var1-measure switches to FILL1 and then continues with var1.

With Cue Mode "Next measure, first measure" FILLs do not enter immediately but with next measure.

Following is a simple Autofill Test you could try:

ok i tried a bit - didn't get much time today - something weird happened .. now only Fill-in 2 is triggering for both Var 1 and 2 .. also i was going to say that Fill 1 is 1 bar, and Fill 2 was a 2 bar fill-in - that should be okay. I might clear both the fills and start again. Will post back once attempted by weekend. Thanks for the test tip.
