Korg X5D

Hi, I got a chance to buy this keyboard - do you think
it's good starting point since I want to play mainly at home?
It can be effectively used in studio as well? what are the main
differences in comparison to Korg N-364 (it was the first workstation
Tuomas ever bought! :-D

Hello

I have an X5D and can only speak very highly for it
the editing side amd midi side are excellent and the timbres and sounds it has are outstanding (as normal for korg) the X5D unlike the X5 has two sets of sound banks which you can use.

Hello. I had a korg x5d and I sold it to buy a second hand korg n364. So I can tell you de difference between the two keyboards.
korg x5d has the same "GM", "A" and "B" banks as korg n364, but n364 has apart fron that, banks C and bank B and x5d doesn't. Even thought they have the same sounds in banks "GM", "A" and "B", N364 sounds are brighter and a bit more quality. n364 also has aftertouch and x5d doesn't, n364 has got much better keys and has olso n364 has 4 output. x5d only has 2 output. n364 has got a sequencer and x5d doesnt. The only thing that I don't like about the n364 is that it is very heavy (11 kg), while the x5d is very light (4 kg). So x5d is better to transport to different places walking or in a bus or for practicing in a band. n364 is better for live shows and for transporting it by car.

I sold my X5D but then i went an bought it back, and i have triton classic and tr, not like i need a dumbass cricket X5D right? WRONG! I adore that keyboard, very easy to program what you need once you get into it, light weight, small, still has some sounds i'm struggling to recreate on triton. I also had N364, it is far more serious peace of equipment, but i still like x5d more Something about that little thingy...
Anyway, it is a great entry level keyboard, it has midi in/out as well as the pc to host connector, so you can use it with your computer for recording...

hey, thanks for your pieces od advice btw, i also have Triton Classic and tr-61 - triton came just a few days ago from US - need to get around it a bit - too bad i dont have 88keys version, but they are extremely rare here and even if there's any, it's very expansive - time will come
