Kurzweil PC4 quick access question

Hi all. I'm trying to figure out how quick access banks work on the Kurzweil PC4. I found a PC3 tutorial which said you could assign a quick access bank to each of the 16 category buttons, so you could get to 160 programs and multis with just two button presses. This would be brilliant but I can't find any mention of this in the PC4-7 manuals. Does anyone know if this is possible? TIA.

That category function was an addition to functionality of the PC3 with software release 2.10 and there was an addition to the manual to explain it. Not sure if that category functionality related to quick access was included in the pc4 or not. I dont recall exactly how it worked but i sorta remember there was a long press of some buttons involved that did the assignment. There was something in master mode as well that you had to turn on that assigned quick access to favorites. Without that turned on it didnt work.

I have found the PC3 process in the release notes. Whether it works this way on the PC4 I'm not sure, see if the PC3 process gets you to some menu on the PC4:

QA MODE:

Features:
  • New 'QACategory' button functions - the 16 category buttons can now act as either "Favorite QA bank selectors" -or- "MIDI State presets". The function is set using the new Master mode switch, "QACategory" (see Master mode notes below for details).
QA Bank Favorites: QA Mode now offers the ability to save/recall your 16 favorite QA banks.
From the QA main page, this operates by pressing and holding any one of the CATEGORY buttons for approx.. 2 seconds. Doing so sets the current QA bank to the category button pressed (a confirmation message is displayed). To then later recall a given favorite QA bank, simply press that same button again.
