Lacking Polyphony on MODX

I am noticing that if I play any of the piano sounds with the sustain peddle held down it doesn't seem to play 8 (or more ) note polyphony.
If I hit a octave base note (2 notes) and then hit 2 hands on on top while holding sustain (6 more notes) the bass notes drop out like its only 6 note polyphony.
Does anyone know why it is doing this and not playing like a regular piano?

Also I noticed that if I select "solo" for that voice, it does play more than 8 notes sustained. This is strange.

What are the polyphony specs?

The Yamaha MODX synthesizer features a dual synthesis engine architecture providing distinct polyphony for each sound engine. The AWM2 (Advanced Wave Memory 2) sample and synthesis engine offers 128-note polyphony for stereo or mono waveforms, allowing for rich, complex sound layering.its like 128 polyphony

I partly found out how to resolve this. I created a piano sound in another new performance. In that one the piano had the sustained polyphony, but I still don't know why the other performance did not even when I deleted all the other sounds from that performance.
