Hi. Radio Shack MD-1700 won’t power up. DC power supply is out but I installed fresh batteries and it still won’t power up. Nothing. The wire from battery pack shows 9.5 volts on the board. No fuse. I’ve been researching and someone suggested D203. It looks ok. Thanks

If it's getting power to the board and still not booting up, chances are that it's not really worth fixing.

A 20 year old Radio Shack Casio is worth like $30 in working condition on Ebay.

Basically you could try checking the electrolytic caps to see if any of them are leaking.

If you want to sink the money into it it may be fixable but it really won't be worth the cost.

BTW, you can check the caps in circuit with a $50 tool called an ESR meter.

Add it to the total cost of repair in the end if you decide to keep trying to fix it

Thanks Gary. I may just have to buy another one. I actually looked and didn’t see one. Will check again.
