Medeli A1000 freezes during startup

Hi everyone. I got a Medeli A1000 but it freezes during startup. When I press the power button, the display turns on and the device wants to start up. However, it does not go further than the third dot and gets stuck there. Anyone have any ideas what I can do? I also didn't see a USB port to insert a stick anywhere. Just an old USB port to connect to the computer. However, I have no idea which software to use. Thanks in advance if anyone can help me.

The User Manual shows that you can insert a USB stick although it seems the port is in an unusual position, under the keybed in the middle of the the keyboard. The manual also refers to resetting it to factory settings which may fix your problem. I have Medeli A1000 since 10 years ago, and I have the same issue. Another issue I have is there are no audio until 5 minutes or more after starting up.

Back on topic. What I think you can do is switch off the main power adapter. Wait for 30 seconds or so.
Now try pressing the power button and hold it on for at least 10-15 seconds. Repeat this and see if the Medeli A1000 can start. It works for me somehow, so I hope that this works for you too.

I tend to agree but at the same time, if someone is desperate for a potential solution, $20 is not a lot to risk. One thing to note is that neither of the members claiming to have the original files have any history on the forum. That in itself is not necessarily suspicious. However, it is critically important to make sure that payment is sent in a way that is secure. One way would be to use PayPal, where the vendor does not have access to the sender's bank information.

Another method I have used, particularly when sending large amounts, is to utilise a Virtual Credit Card. Not all credit card companies offer this but if available, it's a great way to pay for something from your account without the actual account info being sent. After logging in to your account, you determine the maximum amount and expiry date, then a random 16-digit credit card number, linked to your account, plus a 3-digit security code are generated. This is then sent as normal to the vendor and the payment shows on your monthly statement. The beauty of this method is that the card number is useless once the maximum amount is reached or if it is not used before the expiry date, usually a minimum of two months, I believe.

As a case in point, here's a true story. During Covid, November 2021, I decided to buy a Korg Pa1000 but noticed that the price had crept up from the original $2,000 to $2,200 then $2,400 (it's currently $3,000 at all the major US dealers!). Due to shipping restrictions, it was almost impossible to find one in stock. After checking through many websites, I found a company in California that was still advertising it for $2,000, with free shipping.

I placed my order right away and used a virtual card number for the total, including sales tax. It was not in stock at the time but my thinking was that if they took the payment, we would have a contract and there was no way they could have drawn further funds from my account later on. They immediately sent me a receipt for full payment and as I had the funds from a previous sale, the charge was paid next month without incurring interest. Of course, they could have declined and refunded the initial charge but I ended up with the keyboard ten months later. A long time to wait but nobody else had them during that time anyway, so it was well worth it.
