Trying midi set to IPad , iPad Pro , os 16.2, Apps =. Auria pro. Model D (moog), Symtronic
using Roland FP-7F , w/ din out , as well as usb B.
Got a midi/usb adapter from din/out to iPad, w/ usbA-lightning adaptor to plug into iPad.
Also, got usb B cable w/ lightning , as alternative into IPad. Both of these setups work for midi input to DAW on comp., so cables/connectors seem ok.
But….why not to the IPad ?
all three apps set to midi Chan !. Moog has choice of using “network session 1. ‘. or not. Symtronic does not seem to give input choice.
Cannot get midi signal to any. Aria/ no note input , but works , midi, w/ onboard kybd. Moog and Sym work w/ their onboard kybd, but not external midi input.

Any ideas ?
thx, Bud

Check for any available drivers.

My DR-880 was class compliant with Linux, but on a mac it's not visible without a driver installation.

macOS apps don't run on iOS and vice versa.

There is limited compatibility between the two.

For either of those FP-7F connections to work on the iPad (DIN out or USB-B), you need a USB-A-to-lightning adapter (something you don't need for the computer). Since both connections work on the computer, but neither works on the iPad, the first thing to suspect would be the thing that is different between the two environments, which is that lightning adapter.

So for the USB-A-to-lightning adapter, are you using Apple's adapter or a third party? Apple's are the only ones that are known to work reliably, and work no matter which version of the OS you're running. So first, make sure you're using an actual Apple adapter.

Other than that, if you want to use the Roland's USB connection, make sure the piano's "USB Driver" setting is set for "Generic" (it probably already is). If you want to use the DIN connection, the remaining question would be, what midi/usb adapter are you using?

Check for any available drivers.

No need to bother... it is impossible to install a driver on an iPad. ;-)
