Modify Type 0 Midi Files into Type 1 or 2

made some recordings on my Yamaha Keyboard using the Type 0 file system, and it recorded on only 8 tracks. Now I'd like to expand these tracks to 16 channels so I can modify some instruments. I know that some software converts the Midi types 0, 1, and 2. I've already done this conversion but without success. It's the same 8 tracks
