MODX 8 always generates duplicate notes when recording MIDI into Pro Tools

How do I stop this from happening? It also seems balky when I am playing or recording the virtual instruments inside Pro Tools. I also have an east west subscription with wonderful orchestral and other instruments. I do not have the duplicate note problem or balky performance with my older Korg M50.
