I’ve occasionally experienced random loud notes on piano settings. It’s hard to troubleshoot because they are random events, but they have occurred enough for me to know that there’s potential problem.


Has anybody else experienced this and how did you solve it? (not sure what other details are neede for the question, but let e know).

when it occurs is it always the same note(s), as an example, is it always the middle C? Is it the same E and F#? If the same notes then most likely the rubber contract strip are starting to crack.

Contact strip, 12-note, Yamaha

Rubber contact strip for synthesizer keys, 12-note strip. This rubber strip contains carbon contacts inside each "bubble". When a key is depressed, the key presses down on the bubble, and the carbon makes contact with the key contact circuit board. This item is Yamaha part numbers WF212202...

Yes. If all of the strips ars starting to crack then it occur randomly.

In general , this is a sign of contact strips problems, a common repair (to be performed by a professional).
