Monitoring live in Garage Band

I'm connecting my DGX-670 via usb to a lightning adapter to my iPad 2. I plan on using GarageBand. I would like to apply EQ (LRC5 app) to the signal in GB and monitor it live after it's been processed. Is it possible to do this? I just want to play live, not recording. Will latency be a problem? Never used GB before. Will I need a different DAW app instead? I would appreciate any advice. I am 84 and find it challenging picking up on this tech. Thank you.
