Hi there!

I have a Korg PA 3 and Korg PA 700

I want to copy some styles from PA 700 to Korg PA 3x

I want to copy a single style from 700 to 3x, but I always make a "user bank"

The problem is that "user banks" on PA 700 have more than 40 styles and thus can't be copied in the user style on 3x?

Any suggestions?

Depends upon how badly you want the Styles.

There is software available, alas it is quite an outlay for what it is.

Additionally you could create your own.

Kris Nicholson has a great tutorial on Style creation, it is the same process on different models of Pa.

Hi Biggles, thanks for the reply. Actually, my problem is much simpler (at least i think so). My problem is how to SAVE JUST ONE STYLE from PA 700 and copy it to PA 3x. Whenever I do SAVE, I save a SET, not just a single STYLE. And teh SETS are not compatible

Hello,
If you simply want to copy some styles from Pa700 to Korg Pa3x it is not necessary to buy external software, because it easily can be done with onboard-tools of that keyboards.

Export Pa700-style to a SMF with Pa700-Style-Editor and import that SMF with Pa3x as described in manuals.

Described in Manual "Pa3x-Advanced" page 29 Style Record mode you will find how to import SMF separated by markers into a style.
How importing / exporting Styles of Pa700 to a Standard MIDI File (SMF) separated by markers is described in Manual of Pa700 / page 293 " (exporting the Styles and Pads).

To export a complete style it is necessary not to forget to keep the SHIFT button pressed when you touch the Execute button to export a Pa700-style as Standard MIDI File.

That regenerated my old grey matter.

I did not try that with my Pa700.

There was free Korg software “Songbook Editor” which does seem to still be available.

Suggest you download it, it does not show as being compatible with the 3X but I did find it useful.

BTW do you have a copy of Osimo for your Pa700?

Regarding the Songbook, different versions are needed for the Pa3x and Pa700.

SongBook Editor v3.0 supports Pa4X, Pa1000 and Pa700. PC system requirements are Windows® 7/8/8.1/10™.
For older models, Korg recommends using using SongBook Editor v2.0.

I used songbook version v1.5.0. This version is supporting Pa3X, Pa900, Pa600, Pa300, Pa2X Pro, Pa800, Pa1X, Pa1X Pro, Pa1X Elite, Pa500 and Pa588. For this version Windows® XP/Vista/7/8™ is required.

However – to avoid any misunderstanding – you don't need songbook editor to copy styles between the Pa700 and Pa3x, as the keyboards' onboard tools are sufficient for this.
