Record a song to the best of your ability, if you feel it could do with a counter melody or a multi pad here and there to add something extra, Or liven it up , you can put those in on vacant tracks.
Once your song is recorded:
1. Press REWIND so it is at BAR I
2. Make sure OTS Link is off
3. If you want to play a counter melody select the voice onto R1
4. If you want to add a Multi pad, select the Multi pad ready to play
5. Press Channel on/off button twice. At the bottom you will see all 16 channels. Press play and watch the channels, Red lights will indicate which channels are being used, Vacant channels are the ones you will use. Usually 5,6,7,8,9 are Vacant depending on the complexity of the song. Let`s use channel 6 for this exercise. Return the song to the beginning.
6. Press RECORD and whilst holding down the Record button press upper 6 ( Channel 6 ) button and hold for 2 seconds.
7. You will then have a window open up on the left of screen. Scroll to the R1 if you are going to play a counter melody or just add another instrument or to the Multi Pad number if you are going to enter a Multi pad now and then.
8. Everything is set ready now, Press PLAY and you will notice that the song is playing and only one channel is set to record (No 6)
9. Now play your Melody or instrument when you want to, or push the Multi Pad button when you want to bring it in, and the stop button to take it out at the relevant point.
10. At the end of the song, RE - Save in the normal way giving it a slightly different name ( Say No 2 ) so if your not happy with it you can go back to the original and do it again.
11. Other tracks can be added in exactly the same way using the other vacant channels.
PS: Make a copy of a song first to experiment on, and print this out to help you as you progress through each stage.
Hope you find this helpful
Regards
Matrix :)
