MX88 high register sound quality

I play a Yamaha MX88 that I bought new last August. I have been very satisfied with it until just recently. Now when I play it at an octave or two above middle C, it almost sounds like a toy. I play it through a Roland KC-350 that I also bought new about 18 months ago.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

First back up all of your patches and settings then perform a factory reset on the unit to see if it was some screwed up setting that caused the problem.

You'd be amazed at how often people throw the FX section out of whack by accident affecting the timbre of the sound.

If the problem persists it may be a hardware issue.
